Dookie Native Art Garden

Located behind the CWA Gardens in Mary Street along Perdita Street, the Dookie Native Garden offers residents and visitors a new experience and revitalised public interest in a little treasure spot within the Dookie township.  It offers both a drive by and a walk through to view the various artistic installations placed strategically in the nature park. the The Dookie Lions planting in Perdita Street initially began to transpose the area for the Dookie Arts ‘Dookie Earth’ celebration in 2014. The area encourages a natural habitat for wild life within a natural bush setting.  The group is lead by Andrew Sands and Liz Evans who are passionate artists and environmental experts who generously give their time and artistic attributes to this natural area of growth and beautification. The area has been gradually developed over the last decade and more inspiration was sought to coincide with the Shepparton Arts Week in March 2025. This instigated a collection of new installations, each with their own distinctive artistic features.
These include various sick wave structures, colourful nesting boxes, wire cicada sculptures, oversized artistically nests, hanging cocoons and a complimenting extension  of the magnificent ‘Flowering Gum’ attraction in Mary Street, Dookie.  Splashes of colour can be spotted amidst the natural bush environment.
